Operating in Malawi since 1999, JTI Malawi Limited is part of JTI’s tobacco leaf buying business and is one of the leading tobacco companies in Malawi. Opportunities are currently available for suitably qualified candidates to fill five positions in our Graduate Development Program. The program will run into six months internship contracts with a potential for one year trainee contracts subject to attitude and performance.

Position: Graduate Trainees
Position Purpose

JTI Malawi Graduate Development Program is targeted at building a pipeline of young highly skilled professionals in Agronomy who will be driving our business in the future. Successful candidate will go through a series of rotational assignments within the company to learn about leaf production and appreciate the leaf supply chain. After 12 months of intensive on the job learning combined with targeted training programs, high performing trainees will continue their career in one of JTI Malawi Limited regions within Malawi.

Qualifications and Competencies

The successful candidates have
• A university/college degree (preferably in Agriculture or related field, Engineering, Administration or similar) and ready to work anywhere within Malawi.
• Excellent spoken and written English and Chichewa.
• Good knowledge of MS Office.
• Should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• A quick learner who can apply his/her mind.
• Also the desire and readiness to work in a multi-cultural environment is a must.
• Be passionate about the world of tobacco leaf.
